Employees (including other workers and partners) are protected from certain forms of discrimination.

Unlawful discrimination is where an employee is treated less favourably than another on the basis of what is known as a ‘protected characteristic’ namely:

  • disability
  • age
  • religion or belief
  • sexual orientation
  • marital status
  • gender reassignment

Unlike ordinary unfair dismissal awards for compensation are not capped.  We work with charities, companies and organisations to ensure that they have the appropriate policies and procedures in place as well as providing training, support and representation.
