Settlement Agreements
If you have been involved in a dispute with your employer or you are being made redundant then you may be invited to an “off the record discussion” at which the issue of a settlement or compromise agreement is raised. You might be asked to sign a settlement agreement in exchange for additional payment or benefits. However, this is not always as straightforward a process and, to protect your interests, you will need to seek professional advice.
Ordinarily, an employer will contribute to the legal fees incurred by the employee on obtaining advice on the terms and effect of a Settlement Agreement.
Our average costs for advising on terms and effect of a settlement agreement is £500 plus VAT.
